Julie A. Del Giorno
Julie Del Giorno currently serves as a Compliance Manager in the Office of Ethics & Compliance at Penn State. As part of her role, she conducts confidential and sensitive workplace investigations, works closely with University partners to include Human Resources, the Office of Sexual Misconduct Prevention & Response (Title IX) and the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and assist in managing the University Ethics and Compliance Hotline.
She has over 20 years of experience in Higher Education including service as the first ever Athletics Integrity Officer at Penn State, Chief of Staff at Moravian College, and Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Assistant to the President at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Del Giorno held various positions in the intercollegiate athletic department at the United States Military Academy at West Point, serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations & Support and Senior Woman Administrator and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., where she was selected as a Division II All-American in Women's Basketball, and was honored as the Army Athletic Association Women Athlete of the Year in 1986. In 2013 she was inducted into the Army Sports Hall of Fame at West Point and in 2014 her Jersey number was officially retired by West Point and the Women’s Basketball program. She earned her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas.
Ms. Del Giorno is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and commanded the Transportation Company of the 10th Mountain Division’s Main Support Battalion during operations in Somalia. She served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army from 1986-1995 and is a Bronze Star medal recipient. Throughout her tenure in the Army she held various leadership positions to include, transportation company commander, division movement control officer, battalion adjutant/administrative officer, and platoon leader.
