Alexandrea “Alex” Davenport

Research Associate - Qualitative Analyst

Alexandrea “Alex” Davenport serves as a Qualitative Analyst and focus group facilitator for Rankin and Associates. Alex has professional staff experience in the areas of LGBTQIA+ student services, academic advising, university housing, and student conduct. Alex has received divisional and campus-wide recognition at The University of Alabama for her commitment to building equitable and just services for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and faculty. Alex was also recognized as The University of Alabama’s 2015 Outstanding Academic Advisor.

In addition, Alex has served as an advisor to various student organizations as well as a dedicated member of multiple divisional and campus-wide committees. In her role as Head Coach of the UA Women’s Rugby team, Alex was able to blend her commitment to student development with her passion for cultivating inclusive athletic climates through respectful, honest, and intentional coaching practices. 

Alex earned a M.A. in American Studies from The University of Alabama and a B.S. in Sports Management from The University of Texas, Austin. Alex’s graduate studies centered on the role of women within queer spectrum diversity and inclusion initiatives specific to intercollegiate athletics.

A lifetime athlete, Alex enjoys running, working out, and playing basketball, rugby, and golf. Most weekends Alex can be found exploring the hillsides and riverbanks of Alabama along with her wife and son.
