Sonia M. Jimenez, M.A. is currently the Program Manager for Student Engagement, School of Innovation.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Sonia earned her Bachelor’s in Spanish and Psychology from Texas Tech University and her Masters in Higher Education with a focus in Student Affairs from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. On her down time, Sonia is working on completing her online Institutional Research graduate certification with Pennsylvania State University.
Sonia joined the School of Innovation after working in Fort Worth where she occupied roles in Career Services and the Office of the Dean at Texas A&M University School of Law. She was hired as the new I-School’s Program Manager for Student Engagement on October 1, 2017.
Additionally, Sonia serves on the Texas A&M University’s Vision 2030 committee on Transformational Education and in the past has acted as the Texas A&M Law School University Staff Council (USC) Representative where she represented both the law school and the USC as the staff diversity representative on the university-wide diversity council. She has also been active nationally with the American College Personnel Association where she serves on the Commission for Assessment and Evaluation and as well as the Coalition for Sexuality and Gender Identities. She is also a member of the Association for Institutional Research and a Research Associate with Rankin & Associates Consulting.
As a young professional, Sonia prefers to spend her free time with good books, great friends, and her two Boston Terriers.
